Lemon and Spoon Race

On 24 October 2024, MBS International School conducted a ‘Lemon and Spoon Race’ for Class II students. The event took place on the school playground, and it was filled with energy and enthusiasm from the participants. Each student was given a spoon with a lemon placed on it. The objective was to walk briskly from the starting line to the finish line without dropping the lemon. If a student dropped the lemon, they had to return to the starting point and try again.

The children participated with great enthusiasm, cheering each other on and displaying good sportsmanship throughout the event. The race tested their speed, agility, and balance. It was a fun and exciting experience that everyone enjoyed!

Toran Making

MBS International School organised an Inter-Class Toran Making Competition for Class V students on 23 October 2024. The participants enthusiastically displayed their unique Toran designs, crafted with intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and rich textures.

The competition inspired excitement among the students as they embraced the opportunity to create something beautiful and colourful. It also instilled a sense of pride as they showcased their work to the school. This creative activity sparked their imagination, allowing them to express their artistic talents while fostering originality and critical thinking through the exploration of diverse materials, colours, and patterns.

Candle Decoration Activity

On Tuesday, 29 October 2024, MBS International School Dwarka conducted a 'Candle Decoration' activity for the students of Class I. The primary aim of the activity was to engage students creatively while educating them about the cultural and spiritual significance of Diwali. The students expressed great excitement and joy during the candle decoration process.

As they worked with various decorative materials, their enthusiasm was evident, with many students eagerly showcasing their unique designs. The vibrant candles not only reflected their creativity but also symbolised the light and positivity that Diwali represents.

Teachers took this opportunity to discuss the importance of celebrating the festival in an eco-friendly way, encouraging students to make conscious choices in their celebrations. Overall, it was a joyful and meaningful way to celebrate the festival while also promoting sustainable practices.

Shimmer and Shine: Diya Making

On October 23, 2024, MBS International School organised the "Shimmer and Shine" diya decoration interhouse competition for Class IX students. The event aimed to celebrate the festival of lights while inspiring creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation among participants.

Students from all four houses—Teresa, Tagore, Curie, and Vivekananda—enthusiastically collaborated to craft beautifully decorated diyas, employing vibrant colors and traditional designs. Each house offered its unique vision of the Diwali spirit, embodying themes of unity, prosperity, and the victory of light over darkness.

This competition not only showcased the students' artistic talents but also fostered a sense of community and cultural connection, making it a truly enriching experience for everyone involved.

Curie House was declared the winner for their intricate design symbolizing Diwali’s essence of light and positivity. Tagore House and Teresa House secured the second and third positions, respectively.

Shimmer and Shine: Rangoli Making

MBS International School organised Shimmer and Shine - Inter House Rangoli Making competition for the students of Class XI  on 23 October 2024, wherein the students participated with zeal and ardour. The event aimed to celebrate the festival of lights while fostering creativity, teamwork, and cultural awareness among students.The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four houses i.e Teresa, Tagore, Curie and Vivekanand with students working together to create stunning Rangoli designs using vibrant colors and traditional motifs. Each house displayed unique interpretations of the Diwali spirit, incorporating themes of unity, prosperity, and the triumph of good over evil.

The students demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, making the task of selecting winners a challenging one. After careful deliberation, Vivekanand House was declared the winner for their intricate design symbolising Diwali’s essence of light and positivity. Tagore House and Curie House secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The event not only brightened the school premises with beautiful designs but also reinforced the spirit of collaboration and festivity.

On October 23, 2024, MBS International School organised the "Shimmer and Shine" toran decoration interhouse competition for Class X students. This event aimed to celebrate the festival of lights while fostering creativity, teamwork, and cultural understanding among the participants.

Students from all four houses—Teresa, Tagore, Curie, and Vivekananda—enthusiastically worked together to create beautifully adorned torans, using vibrant colors and traditional motifs. Each house presented a distinct interpretation of the Diwali spirit, reflecting themes of unity, prosperity, and the triumph of light over darkness.

This competition not only highlighted the students' artistic abilities but also promoted a sense of community and cultural engagement, resulting in a truly enriching experience for all participants.

Origami Paper Folding Activity

On Tuesday, 22 October 2024, MBS International School Dwarka conducted an 'Origami Paper Folding' activity for the students of Class I. This activity aimed to enhance students' creativity and fine motor skills by engaging them in the art of origami. The theme was "Underwater World," where students used colourful origami sheets to fold and create various sea creatures such as fish, jellyfish and crabs.
 The activity was met with enthusiastic participation, allowing students to explore their imagination while learning about the fascinating marine ecosystem. It successfully fulfilled the dual goals of artistic expression and environmental awareness. The positive feedback from both students and teachers underlined the value of such interactive, hands-on learning experiences in fostering creativity and knowledge.

Our Helpers

 On October 15, 2024, MBS International School organised a special activity for Nursery and Kindergarten students themed around Community Helpers. The students dressed up as various community helpers, including nurses, policemen, doctors, soldiers, and teachers, showcasing the essential roles these individuals play in our society. To encourage feelings of compassion and empathy, the students introduced themselves and discussed the importance of these helpers in our daily lives. Their enthusiasm and eagerness during the activity were truly impressive.

This interactive and educational experience not only helped students grasp the significance of community helpers but also fostered gratitude and respect for those who serve their communities. The hands-on nature of the activity made it a success, allowing children to develop a deeper appreciation for these vital roles

O2 Planetarium

"To go places and do things that have never been done before – that’s what living is all about." -Michael Collins

In association with the O2 Planetarium, MBS International School provided an intriguing and significant educational experience on the school grounds from October 15, 2024 to October 24, 2024. Inside a specially created, air-conditioned double-layer dome, the event was designed to provide learners in Classes I to XII an immersive 3D travel through the wonders of the universe. Through an entertaining, engaging, and instructive experience, this endeavor sought to pique students' interest and improve their comprehension of space and planetary sciences.

Beginning with a fantastical excursion to the Chocolate Planet, the enthralling journey captivated students' imaginations as they explored a chocolate fantasy realm. This creative stop, which featured edible mountains and chocolate rivers, inspired young students' creativity and set up the environment for an exciting day.

The visit's following phase took learners on an amazing three-dimensional visual tour of Earth's Evolution, describing how the globe formed billions of years ago. They saw the slow formation of seas, the amazing evolution of life across time, and the process of volcanic eruptions sculpting Earth's early geography through vibrant animations. The intricate depiction of how Earth's continents change and evolve made difficult scientific ideas more approachable and fascinating for the learners.

Seeing the Extinction of the Dinosaurs was one of the most treasured parts of the journey. The pupils were sent back in time to observe how these amazing animals ruled the earth before being exterminated by a devastating asteroid strike. Students were inspired to ask questions and learn more about the forces that molded our globe by the immersive experience and stunning images that brought this important moment in Earth's history to life.

In the next phase of their journey, the learners got an opportunity to learn about the 8 Scoops of the Milky Way and the Negative Impact of Black Hole on the planet Earth. The learners felt as if they were heading towards the centre of the black hole feet first and ended up learning that the gravitational pull on their feet would be a lot stronger than the gravitational pull on their head.

The O2 Planetarium experience offered a remarkable fusion of deep learning and creative inquiry by fusing science, fantasy, and fun. The experience was designed to guarantee that every child had a relevant and rewarding learning experience, with shows tailored to the student's age and comprehension level. Students were motivated to delve deeper into the subject matter and think about the mysteries of the cosmos in a different way by interacting with subjects like Earth's history, planetary science, and space exploration.

This educational event provided students at MBS International School with a unique opportunity to engage with space sciences, blending entertainment with education and leaving them curious about the universe and the planet they call home.

Show and Tell Activity

On Tuesday, 15 October 2024, MBS International School organised a ‘Show and Tell activity’ for the students of Class I, where students enthusiastically brought their favorite toys. From teddy bears to toy cars, each student spoke about what made their toy special, highlighting their creativity and boosting their confidence in public speaking. This engaging activity allowed students to express themselves while improving their communication and listening skills. The enthusiasm and involvement of all participants created a delightful and enriching experience for everyone. It also provided a joyful and educational experience, allowing students to connect with one another and appreciate the diverse interests of their classmates.

Dussehra Craft - Grade II

On Tuesday, 08 October 2024, MBS International School organised a Dussehra themed Craft activity for the students of Class II, celebrating the festival's rich cultural and creative significance. The students engaged in crafting Ravan crowns, an enjoyable project that allowed them to delve into the artistic and traditional elements of Dussehra.

As they worked on their crowns, students discussed the story of Dussehra, reflecting on the triumph of good over evil, deepening their understanding of the festival’s importance. This activity not only nurtured creativity but also promoted teamwork, as students collaborated and exchanged ideas. Through this hands-on experience, they developed fine motor skills while learning about their cultural heritage in a fun and interactive manner. The classroom buzzed with laughter, excitement and pride as each child displayed their beautifully crafted crowns.

This hands-on activity not only stimulated their creativity but also fostered teamwork  as students collaborated, shared ideas and supported each other throughout the process. They also honed their fine motor skills while connecting with their cultural heritage in an interactive and enjoyable way.

Overall, the Dussehra craft activity was a tremendous success, leaving students enriched with both knowledge and creativity.

Magic Show

On Thursday, 3 October 2024, MBS International School, in collaboration with HT-PACE, hosted an enchanting magic show exclusively for the HT Newspaper subscribers of Classes III to V. The event provided students with a delightful respite from their academic routines, transporting them into a world of wonder and imagination.

The magic show commenced at 9:00 a.m., with the magician captivating the young audience through a series of astonishing illusions. From spellbinding disappearing acts to fascinating mind-reading feats, every performance was met with awe and amazement. Students were especially thrilled by the magician’s interactive tricks, where their participation brought extra excitement to the show.

Beyond entertainment, the magic show also ignited curiosity, sparking interest in the art of illusion and encouraging creative thinking. The show was not just a break from the routine but an inspiring and unforgettable experience for all the students involved.

Dussehra Craft

On Tuesday, 8 October 2024, MBS International School Dwarka conducted a 'Dussehra  Craft' activity for the students of Class I. Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, is a significant Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of good over evil, exemplified by Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana. To engage students and encourage creativity, the school organised an activity where they crafted masks representing various characters like Rama, Sita, and Ravana. The activity was a success, achieving its goals of cultural education and creativity. Positive feedback and enthusiastic participation highlighted the importance of such initiatives in preserving cultural traditions and strengthening community bonds

Poster Making

In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and to emphasise the importance of cleanliness, MBS International School organised an engaging Poster Making Activity’ for class 1 students on Tuesday, 1 October 2024. This vibrant activity encouraged young participants to unleash their creativity and imagination as they crafted colourful and impactful posters that conveyed the significance of maintaining cleanliness in our homes, schools, and communities.

The initiative aimed not only to celebrate Gandhi’s legacy but also to instill a sense of hygiene and environmental responsibility in the children from an early age. Equipped with a variety of colours, paper, and boundless enthusiasm, the students enthusiastically designed posters that illustrated practical ways everyone can contribute to a cleaner, greener environment. Their artwork served as a powerful reminder that small actions can lead to significant changes, and they left with a deeper understanding of how to care for their surroundings. The activity was a delightful blend of creativity and education, inspiring the young minds to take pride in their environment and be active participants in its upkeep.

English Debate

On the 10^th anniversary of ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ launched by our Honourable Prime Minister, MBS International School organised an Inter-House Debate Competition for the students of classes XI and XII with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of recycling in promoting cleanliness and reducing  waste. The topic of the debate was - "Should Recycling be mandatory to promote cleanliness and reduce waste?"

Tagore and Curie Houses presented their views in favour of the motion, while the opposition party, Teresa and Vivekananda Houses, presented their views against the motion. The students participated with great enthusiasm, making it a valuable learning experience.

The event offered a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their public speaking and debating abilities, demonstrating their confidence as orators. The students were given a chance at rebuttal as well which they accepted beautifully. The Debate Competition was a resounding success, highlighting the intellect, eloquence, and confidence of our students. It served as a platform for students to refine their public speaking skills, engage in meaningful discourse, and exchange ideas on important societal issues. The event underscored the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of critical thinking, effective communication, and informed citizenship.

Painting Competition

Painting competition was organised for students of class VI and VII on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, on the theme ‘Principles of Gandhi’. It provided a unique opportunity for young artists to express their creativity while learning about the important values of Mahatma Gandhi. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by the participants were truly inspiring, demonstrating their understanding of themes like non-violence, truth, and community service.

Students shared their thoughts on how Gandhi's teachings relate to their everyday lives, making the event not just about painting but also about personal growth and awareness. Many participants enjoyed the chance to work collaboratively, discussing their ideas and supporting one another, which helped to strengthen friendships and teamwork. This competition not only highlighted the artistic talents of our students but also reinforced the importance of Gandhi’s values, making it a memorable and impactful experience for everyone involved.

   Role Play

Role play competition was organised on the theme ‘Principles of Gandhi’ for students of class VIII on Tuesday, 1 October 2024. The skits were creative and engaging, showcasing the students' talent and enthusiasm. It provided a unique opportunity for young artists to express their creativity while learning about the important values of Mahatma Gandhi.

Students explored how Gandhi’s leadership inspired people across India to join these movements, demonstrating the power of collective action driven by ethical and moral principles. Role-playing helped students internalise Gandhi’s emphasis on truth (Satya), non-violence (Ahimsa), and self-reliance (Swadeshi), understanding how these values guided his actions and inspired millions. It simulated students regarding Gandhi’s educational initiatives, students learnt about his focus on practical skills, self-sufficiency, the integration of work and learning as key components of education.

Through these enactments, students developed critical thinking by analysing the challenges faced by Gandhi, the strategies he employed with their outcomes. They learned to approach problems with a mindset focused on ethical solutions. Students grasped the historical significance of these events and Gandhi’s role in the Indian independence movement, fostering a sense of nationalism and pride in their cultural heritage hence made it an impactful experience for everyone involved.

Global Dialogues : Video Conferencing

MBS International School believes in Global Citizenship. To reach beyond the boundaries we are connecting with different classrooms, all over the globe on the Generation Global platform.

A video conference was held between MBS School and students from the United Kingdom, Lithuania, and Mexico on Tuesday, 1 October 2024 , to discuss global biodiversity challenges and potential solutions. The event aimed to foster international collaboration, increase awareness of environmental issues, and encourage young people to take active roles in protecting biodiversity.

Participants from all countries shared their observations on the decline in biodiversity. Key reasons highlighted included deforestation, pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change.

The students discussed how biodiversity loss affects ecosystems and species, leading to long-term consequences for food security, water supply, and human health.

The participants emphasised the need for collaboration between countries to combat biodiversity loss. Students discussed how local communities can make a significant impact through conservation projects, policy changes, and

Students expressed enthusiasm about continuing the dialogue on biodiversity and expressed a desire to organize more collaborative projects in the future.

The video conference strengthened the bonds between students from different countries, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the planet.

The conference proved to be a valuable platform for young minds to exchange ideas, share solutions, and develop a stronger global perspective on the importance of biodiversity conservation.

Non-Violence Tribute celebration

Mahatma Gandhi, a monumental figure in India’s history, was more than a leader; he was a beacon of values that continue to resonate with generations. To celebrate his birth anniversary, MBS International School celebrated ‘Non-violence Tribute’ for the students of  Pre-primary wing.

Our young learners participated in creative activities such as cotton dabbing and charkha making to honour Gandhi’s enduring legacy of peace, non-violence, and simplicity.  The students were shown a documentary, highlighting Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings. This engaging overview aimed to impart his significant contributions to India and instill his core values of peace and non-violence in the hearts of our students. Through these activities, we aim to inspire our students to embrace Gandhi’s ideals and carry forward his message of peace and compassion in their daily lives.

Charkha Making

In honour of Mahatma Gandhi and his advocacy for the Charkha (spinning wheel) as a symbol of self-reliance and independence, MBS International School Dwarka held a ‘Charkha Making’ activity on Tuesday, 1 October 2024 for the students of Class II. The activity commenced with an introduction to Gandhi's principles of non-violence and self-reliance, followed by a brief overview of how the Charkha became an emblem of the Indian freedom movement.

The primary aim of the activity was to educate students about the Charkha's significance in India’s struggle for independence, promote the spirit of Swadeshi, and inspire creativity. The ‘Charkha Making’ activity was a resounding success, enabling students to connect with India's rich heritage while fostering creativity and teamwork. This initiative not only honoured Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy but also encouraged students to appreciate the importance of sustainable practices and self-reliance.
