MBS International School, Dwarka, New Delhi organized a workshop on CUET Admission Process on 16 August 2023 in the School Auditorium with an objective to create awareness about the dynamics of the admission process for the session starting in 2022 by introduction of a common entrance test for all the streams (Eco (H), B.Com.(H), BA (H), B.Sc. (H) and all other undergraduate courses). The students across the nation are unaware, confused and worried about the latest admission process and are in need of urgent help.
The session began with a welcome note introducing the eminent Resource persons, Mr.Nakul Shairwal, Head Of Counseling Division at Edumentor and Ms.Preeti Guglani, Career Counsellor at Edumentor.
The students were briefed on the motive of introducing Common University Entrance Test as an admission process to various central universities. CUET, which was started from 2022, provides a common platform with equal opportunities to all the students across the nation for admission to top notch colleges in India. The students were introduced about age eligibility criteria, CBT(Computer Based Test) Mode of examination and Medium of examination which can be in English, Hindi, and other regional languages.
Information related to expected months for registration and examination for the upcoming CUET 2024 was also shared with students that gave them a clear picture for the planning required by them to be made for maintaining balance with CBSE board examination.
The test paper consists of three sections like a language section followed by a subject specific domain and finally a General knowledge test. The selection of domains are crucial for getting admission in required courses. Duration of examination is specific for every section like 60 Minutes for subject domain.
The students were encouraged to focus on NCERT, NCERT Exemplars and a few reference books for cracking CUET 2024. The examination will be totally MCQ based with negative marking for every incorrect response .
Preparation for Board exams and CUET should go hand in hand as the syllabus is common and both focus on MCQ .Regular practice of MCQS will enable the students for assured results. Students were advised “Don't put off today’s work on tomorrow that you can do today”.
Over all the session was really interactive where students actively inquired about their concerns and raised queries that were addressed by resource persons.
The workshop aimed at enhancing the students' understanding of CUET admission process, paper pattern and balance between CBSE Boards and CUET.
