What a wonderful phrase
Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Singing and dancing to the wonderful song, leaving all the inhibitions aside the pre-primary children started their new session with pomp and excitement. In this digital world, the interaction is through screens hence, teachers were all set to bridge the gap of physical learning. They greeted their students with beautiful hand puppet, which was enjoyed by the class. The class was filled with giggles and laughter.
All interactions a teacher has with children can influence how they learn, grow and feel about themselves. Hence, this activity was specially curated in a manner where teacher-child interactions focused on building a foundation of trust, empathy, connectedness, and school readiness. Children created their first hand impression to mark the beginning of this special journey of learning and fun.
The students of classes Pre-primary & Preschool were in for a special treat with the puppet show. Puppets are engaging toys, which capture the attention of the little ones and open doors to their imagination. It surely provides the teacher an opportunity to be a part of child’s world. Therefore, the beginning of this online session with puppets & storytelling proved to be an ice breaking fun filled activity. Children not only had fun but they also connected well with their class teacher. Puppets changed the entire classroom by creating more possibilities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and curiosity. The session ended with a smile on every child’s face. Pre-schoolers enjoyed making their own finger puppet as a take away from this class. A happy and an enjoyable beginning indeed!!!
HOME SWEET HOME
“Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.”
In learning about self, home plays an important part. Especially now as we all are spending most of our time at home, it is a familiar and comfortable territory for the little ones. They have their own favourite corner in the house. Learning about different terminologies around this theme was an interesting topic of discussion and a thought to ponder upon. The discussion brought excitement in the class, there was so much to share and learn. With the help of technology they all enjoyed a beautiful presentation of ‘Home sweet home’. Their creativity and hand – eye coordination were put to use when they all created origami houses as a small reminder of the theme. They were happy to share the pictures of their favourite area of the house.
“School is a place where we learn to learn”
Providing opportunities where our young inquisitive minds can explore different areas of the school was made into a possibility by the activity of Knowledge Park. The pre-primary MBSians explore all about their school through a virtual tour organised by their class teachers. Children were so happy and excited to visit their school and see what all awaits them. Virtually going through the main gate, crossing the colourful corridors, visiting their classrooms, play area, IT lab etc. brought a lot of excitement in the class. They all wanted to be there. To make this whole experience more inclusive they were involved in an Identification card making activity, which they wore during their online class with a big smile on their faces.
The Pre-primary children of MBS International School celebrated Baisakhi with great enthusiasm on Tuesday, April 13,2021. The celebration of this festival marked the beginning of festivities at our school. Everyone was looking beautiful in their colourful traditional attires. The beats of the dhol brought vibrancy to the environment. Children were explained the meaning of celebrating this harvest festival. They were also involved in making a craft of a dhol as a significance of the celebration. They were so engrossed in decorating their dhol and wore it around their neck with pride. The vibrancy and joy of the celebration was evident on the faces of our little ones.
TWIST AND TURN
We at MBS International School continuously integrate activities that stimulate holistic learning. Origami is one art form which helps this objective greatly.
The skill of Origami not only helps stimulate listening skills (following instructions carefully), it greatly strengthens the fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination etc. Transforming a piece of paper into a three-dimensional object is a unique exercise. It sharpens the attention and concentration ability of the children and lends manual agility.
All the sections of Grade 1 & 2 conducted origami activity on 20th April, 2021. Children participated in this creative venture with great zeal and high spirits.
Children were amazed to see transformation of a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture of boat. Budding stars created unique and exclusive shapes and structures to showcase their finesse in paper craft. They made origami boat and displayed them with great pleasure and gratification. This activity triggered their imagination and enhanced their creative skills.
Origami provided our little ones with wonderful “schematic learning through repeatable actions”. As the teachers virtually demonstrated, children watched closely and listened carefully to the specific instructions and then carried them with originality, neatness and accuracy.
With the origami boat they created the Night Sea Scenery. They made the scene with the help of stars, cotton & white bindi.
The paper folding craft was not only a fun filled experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means to develop artistic skills in the young ones.
Life in the times of Corona virus means a halt on travel. However online technologies have removed the barriers of time, cost and location from the learning activities and experiences available to students. Virtual field trips allow learners to engage with and to learn about authentic artifacts and to explore places important to their discipline of study. The virtual field trip enables learners to visit and explore destinations with ease.
To eradicate boredom and enhance knowledge while comfortably sitting at home,
MBS International school, organised a virtual tour to The Agra Fort for the students of Grade -III to V on April 19, 2021.

Students not only explored how our emperor used to live but also got familiar with different techniques used for protection of the fort. They also got to know how forts were kept cooler for long duration by simply using water between the walls and fullers earth soil. To spark student’s interest a quiz was conducted at the end of the session which students enjoyed thoroughly. Their responses to the virtual field trip were overwhelmingly positive.

All creative work begins by doing something with the hands. Creation is simply a problem and design is the way out. Apropos to this a virtual Thumb Printing activity was organised by MBS International School for the students of Grade I and II on Baisakhi which marks the harvest of crops and farmers offer thanksgiving for a good harvest and prosperity. The motive behind the activity was to apprise the children of their culture and heritage of the country.
Thumb Printing Activity not only includes simply using colours and fingers and creating a piece of art but it also enhances the fine motor skills of the children. The child learns to use their senses, explore colours, explore process and outcomes, and create aesthetically pleasing works and experiences. This artsy endeavour aimed to add fun and excitement in the daily routine of the kids. Children drew a picture of Corn as tribute to farmers for a good harvest and coloured it using thumb printing. Teachers appreciated and acknowledged the work done by the students. To discover the undiscovered talents, Art and craft activities are regularly organized by our school. It is about encouraging, nurturing and showcasing every child's natural creative flair.

MARVELOUS ME! SELF INTRODUCTION
At MBS International school, we believe in expression of thoughts. To encourage this, school organised an activity “Marvelous Me! Self Introduction” for Grade I & II on 6 April, 2021.
Children expressed themselves on virtual platform and freely shared their thoughts. They shared several things about them like hobbies, favourite cartoon, favourite fruit, favourite colour, favourite vegetable etc. They used props accordingly. Some made a scrapbook to show their favourite things. Some used real life objects whereas some used cut outs of their favourite things. The activity brought everyone closer. Teacher also came to know about her students. It helped the introvert and shy students to take initiative and speak few lines on themselves.
The activity was a great learning experience for students as they got a platform to express their views and thoughts.
The teachers applauded all the participants for their efforts and presentation. The manner in which students have presented their thoughts and views was praiseworthy.
The students of classes Pre-primary & Preschool were in for a special treat with the puppet show which captured their attention and opened doors to their imagination. With the beginning of this new online session this storytelling session proved to be an ice breaker. Children not only had fun but they also connected well with their class teacher. Puppets changed the entire classroom by creating more possibilities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and curiosity. The session ended with a smile on every child’s face.
One of the core things we can all agree on is, that developing self-confidence in a child is very important. Building self-confidence in children allows them to be brave and reach out to try new things in life. In order to help children build a strong sense of identity, the activity of special me was conducted for all our special preschool and pre-primary children. Children were engaged in conversation which made them feel special. They were involved in crown making activity, during the creative expression time and wore it like prince & princesses throughout the day. With different activities conducted at MBS International School, children are discovering more about themselves & their world. This activity was a stepping stone towards making all our children positive and confident about themselves.
