GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION

“What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort, lessons in life. A child needs grandparent to grow a little more securely into an unfamiliar world.”

With its strong belief in the overall and holistic development of the child, MBS International School continues to instil values even in these unprecedented times through the means of virtual gatherings. One such ceremonial occasion was on October 10, 2020, Saturday, in which people witnessed Celebration of Grandparents Day via live streaming on School’s official YouTube channel.
The day was filled with oodles of blessings, happy faces, excitement and cheer as the budding stars of MBS International School displayed their love and affection for their grandparents. The event took place in three slots commencing from 9:00 am in the morning. Students of Grade Nursery, Kindergarten and I had participated in multifarious cultural programmes to welcome their dada dadis and nana nanis. The chief guest of the day, Sh. Gulab Singh Ji, MLA South-West Delhi addressed the audience and asserted the importance of having elderly people around us. The event beheld the gracious presence of the Chairman of the school, Mr. Gulshan Kumar Magon, Manager Ms. Gurleen Kaur, Principal of the School, Mr. Atul Wadhawan, Vice Principal Ms. R. Banopreeya, Senior Headmistress and the coordinators of the respective wings. The live streaming of YouTube served as a testimonial to be treasured for times beyond as many parents and grandparents joined in and appreciated the kids as well as the school’s initiative to provide the best of all even when the schools are closed.
The event started with Saraswati Vandana followed by Ganesh Vandana. It was a sight to behold as the tiny tots were seen tapping their feet portraying their love and dedication for Lord Ganesha. With lovely welcome notes from Ayaan Kampasi and Krishika Satyarthi, the event sallied forth with the other cultural programmes. The paragon of the entire event was the Retro packed performance by the students of Grade I, Nursery and KG. The exemplary performance of the students on various retro songs tied the entire show and left everyone spellbound with cheerful faces.  The icing on the cake was the gratitude performance by the tiny tots which had everyone glued to their screens and see the innocent faces expressing their heartfelt thanks for all the love received by the grandparents. The event was characterised by the sweet and savoury relationship between the two wherein the duo danced together with hands held together portraying their fondness and affection for each other. The children were very excited to showcase their love for their grandparents and this was evident on their faces while they were performing. It was a moment of elation to see the happiness ushering in the faces of all the grandparents who made the most of this wonderful day with happiness.  The Vice Principal addressed the audience and proclaimed the importance of having their presence even in the virtual classes which the school is conducting for the students. The immense support and love received from the parents and grandparents even in these troubled times has helped the school move headway focussing on all the scholastic and co-scholastic areas without facing any hindrance in the student’s learning. The event culminated with a vote of thanks given by Riyansh Barwal and Aanya Singh followed by National Anthem.
