“Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing our curiosity.”

With the aim of encouraging curiosity and scientific thinking among young learners, MBS International School, Dwarka, organized an engaging Budding Scientists:- Sink and Float Activity for the students of Class I. The activity was conducted to help students understand the basic concept of sinking and floating through fun and hands-on learning.

During this interactive activity, students were introduced to different objects such as stones, leaves, coins, plastic toys, paper, and wooden blocks. Before placing each object in water, children were encouraged to predict whether it would sink or float. With great excitement, they observed the results and compared them with their predictions. The activity sparked curiosity and helped them understand that heavy objects may sink while lighter objects may float, though size and material also matter.

The hands-on experiment enhanced their observation skills, critical thinking, and reasoning ability. It also helped develop scientific vocabulary and encouraged students to ask questions and explore answers independently. The activity created a joyful learning environment and made science fun and meaningful.

Overall, the Budding Scientists – Sink and Float Activity was an enriching experience that promoted experiential learning and nurtured the young minds of our little scientists.
