“Little hands, big imagination -bringing the legends of the Ramayana to life!’’
On Wednesday, 14th October, an interactive and creative activity on Mask Designing (Characters of Ramayana) was conducted in the school premises of MBS International School for Grade 6 students. The aim of this activity is to enhance students’ creativity and artistic skills by designing masks of characters from the Ramayana. It also aims to develop cultural awareness, moral understanding, and environmental responsibility through the use of eco-friendly materials.
The activity began with a brief introduction to the Ramayana and its inspiring characters, including Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman, and Ravana. Students were shown sample mask designs and introduced to basic mask-making techniques using chart paper, colours, and other craft materials.
Each student selected a character and creatively designed a mask highlighting its unique traits, expressions, and symbols. Teachers guided the students throughout the activity and encouraged them to use eco-friendly materials, vibrant colours, and imaginative patterns.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to express their creativity, develop artistic skills, and learn more about the characters of the Ramayana. It also promoted environmental awareness, cultural appreciation, and hands-on learning. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity through their colourful and attractive masks.
