ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The academic year is divided into two terms and each term has two assessment reports. Each assessment report is based on the CONTINUOUS EVALUATION based on :

·         Class Activities

·         Worksheets

·         Assignments on day to day basis.

Also different internal classroom methods are used to judge the performance of the child on day to day basis.

Progressive monitoring is one of the method used in classrooms. Progress monitoring is used to assess students’ academic performance, to quantify a student rate of improvement or responsiveness to instruction, and to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction.

Observation in natural setting is another such method used to assess students. Naturalistic observation is a research method which involves observing subjects in their natural environment.

A program Early Literacy Skills Assessment is conducted to assess the student’s performance.  The program works on the following key principles:

·         Comprehension

·         Phonological Awareness

·          Alphabetic Recognition

·         Conceptual Clearance

·         Pronunciation

·         Picture-letter Association

·         Recitation

·         Vocabulary Development

·         Number Recognition

·         General Awareness
