3D Balanced Diet Plate Designing
"Healthy habits today lead to a better tomorrow."
A creative and educational activity on the designing of a 3D Balanced Diet Plate was conducted for Grade 8 students at MBS International School on Wednesday, 29th April 2026, within the school premises. The objective of this activity was to enhance students’ understanding of the components of a balanced diet while promoting creativity, teamwork, and practical learning.
The activity began with a brief introduction about the importance of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals in maintaining good health. Students were then guided on how to represent these components visually using a 3D model of a diet plate.
Students enthusiastically participated by bringing a variety of materials such as cardboard, clay, thermocol, colored paper, and eco-friendly items. They designed vibrant and innovative plates showcasing different food groups like fruits, vegetables, cereals, pulses, dairy products, and proteins. Each group ensured that their plate reflected the correct proportion of nutrients required for a balanced diet.
The activity not only strengthened their conceptual understanding but also enhanced their artistic and presentation skills. Many students added labels and brief descriptions to explain the nutritional value of each food item.
The final display was impressive, with a wide range of unique and well-crafted 3D diet plates. Teachers appreciated the efforts and creativity of the students, highlighting the importance of adopting healthy eating habits in daily life.
Overall, the activity was highly engaging and informative. It successfully combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, making learning enjoyable and meaningful for the students.
