“Art is the silent expression of thoughts, feelings and experiences.” – MarilynO

Encouraging a child to be creative using the material provided helps them learn beneficial ways to express themselves. It's about sharing the way we experience the world.

Free-hand drawing is a source of creativity and aesthetic sense among the children. It helps to engage the child for a longer time which leads to increased concentration level. Moreover, free-hand drawing improves observation skills like perception of size, spacing and proportion. It enables learners to express their ideas on paper. Keeping this in mind, MBS International School organized ‘Artistic Expressions’ activity for the students of Grade I and II on February 23 and 24, 2023. The colours on the drawing sheets brought happiness on the faces of pupils and their eyes brightened up with confidence.

The children were excited and drew their imagination with a lot of interest and enthusiasm. They chose the topic on their own like fruits, animals, scenery, festivals, trees, earth, etc. and demonstrated their vision of thoughts very efficiently. This activity assisted the students not only in thinking out of the box but also to express their creative ideas.

“Believing in yourself is the first secret to success.” ~ Buddha

Achievements are a result of hard work, determination and constant efforts with positive attitude. Over the years MBS International School has appreciated students who excel in different fields and bring laurels to school. Such students bring fame to school. The best way to felicitate students  is by awarding them with mementos and certificates of appreciation. Keeping this in mind the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized in the School premises on February 21, 2023 and February 23,  2023. Our honorable Principal Sir Mr Atul Wadhawan, and School Advisor Ma’am Ms Gayatri, presided over the assembly. The school choir melodiously rendered ‘Gayatri Mantra ’ and ‘School Song’. The students were felicitated for showing excellence in the field of Music, Dance,Sports and other Literary and Cultural activities. The young achievers felt elated in their glorious moments and inspired others too. Our Principal Sir also motivated the students to participate in the events. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem. It was indeed an inspiring ceremony marking the day for the position holders.

“In order to see birds, it is necessary to become a part of the silence.”

Birds are important members of many ecosystems. They are integral part of food chains. They use their beaks to grab and swallow food. To generate awareness about the birds, their appearance, habitat and way of living  the ‘Feathered Day’ was celebrated in MBS International School, Sector-11, Dwarka on February 20 and 21, 2023  by the students of Nursery and Kindergarten. It was a fun filled day for pupils as they enjoyed the activity of pasting dry leaves on bird’s nest and happily indulged themselves in pasting googly eyes on the bird provided to them in the form worksheets. To make the learning process more inclusive, children were given a take away of bird craft. Indeed, it was a cheerful experience for the students who actively participated in the activity and took pleasure in learning about the birds.

“The power of speech is the ability to express a lot in a few words.”

Extempore is a great way to promote spontaneous thinking in learners. It enhances the oratory skills in the children and prepares them for public speaking on the spot with confidence.

To inspire the true spirit of learning and to enhance their communication skills MBS International school organized ‘English Extempore Activity’ for the students of Grades I and II on February 16 & 17, 2023. The students got an opportunity to hand-pick the chit and speak on the topic written on it.

Truly, the way in which they performed sanguinely and expressed their views on the given topics without any prior preparation, was indeed an astounding accomplishment. This activity assisted the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision and in a crisp manner.

“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding.” – William Paul Thurston

Mental Math is an ability to calculate and get a correct answer without using pencil & paper or any other electronic devices. Many people often assume that learning mental arithmetic is merely a method to improve the speed and accuracy of calculations, but it also develops mental abilities like concentration, observation, visualization, imagination, and memory. In an effort to lay a strong foundation for Mathematics a ‘Mental Math Quiz’ was conducted on 9th & 10th February, 2023 for Classes I & II. It assessed the mathematical skills of the students with a varying degree of difficulty.

It was a wonderful experience to witness the students from all the sections of Grades I & II participating enthusiastically in the quiz. Each class was divided into groups. The aim was to encourage children to look beyond their textual knowledge and develop a good team spirit which was successfully achieved.

Storytelling brings language learning alive and creates a participatory and immersive experience that allows Young Learners to enjoy hearing the language in a dynamic and sometimes in stylistic and entertaining way.

To keep the tradition going and to incite curiosity and love for reading in children, MBS International school conducted a ‘story-telling’ activity on February 13, 2023 and February 14, 2023 for the students of Pre- School and Pre - Primary.

While some stories provided food for thought and some reinforced moral values. The oratory and presentation skills of tiny tots were outstanding

Developing communication skills and expanding the realm of their imagination was the main objective of the activity. The teachers applauded all the participants for their efforts and presentation.

Overall, it was a great learning experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the young learners.

“Sport teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose – It teaches all about life”.

Children and sport– is a great combination. Playing sport helps children build healthy minds and bodies. It develops team spirit, friendships, and fair play, self-esteem and life skills. Sport also teaches children about how important it is to work hard, even if this doesn’t always mean winning. In our endeavour to ensure fun coupled with learning, MBS International School organised Fun Races for Grade- I on February 2, 2023 where Lemon and Spoon Race was planned for the students. It was a day filled with exhilaration, thrills and cheers.

All the students had fun while participating in the fun races.

To boost creative and inventive skills in the students of Grade III- V, a Paper Bag Making Activity was conducted on February 8, 2023. The activity was conducted to make the students aware about the threat caused by the plastic bags to the environment. The students were guided how to make the paper bags out of old newspapers. Making beautiful paper bags with old newspapers in different shapes and sizes proved to be a simple yet intriguing activity.

The fun-filled activity inspired young MBsians to contribute to Mother Nature by using paper bags and saying no to plastic bags. By and large, students showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making attractive paper bags and decorating them vibrantly.
