5. ECO CLUB

Eco Club plays a vital role in ecology education. Ecology can be defined as the scientific study of interactions among organisms and their environment. It is an inter-disciplinary field that straddles biology, geography and earth science. Eco-club provides an opportunity for experiences that the textbook, lecture and even laboratory cannot match.

The club aims:

  • To educate and make students aware about ecology.
  • To develop students’ personality: Club members develop valuable skills such as public speaking, management and leadership.
  • To provide career guidance: Students are able to meet students with similar interests. Members can learn about career paths and options.
  • To develop and enhance research skills: Activities such as field trips allow students to network with ecologists and related professionals.

Eco club offers a wonderful opportunity to create awareness, build attitudes and help the students take up activities in a real world, in a way in which the constraints of the classroom and curriculum will not allow.
